Dirty Dishes is an edition of tableware which were made from applying sand-casting techniques to creating a slip-cast ceramic plate. Each piece is a reflection of a space and a moment in time; they act as photographs. In the process of making these plates I developed a system for creating local tableware that could be applied to any number of locations. For the event I created two iterations; the Mount Pleasant Plate cast from soil and the Wreck Beach Bowl cast from sand.
